What motivates you to get up and go to work for the Independent retailer every day?
Knowing that I’m playing a part in helping keep small businesses going and become more successful.
Tell us about your role at NMG.
My role at Nationwide Marketing Group is to provide excellent support to the Members in my territory. I show them ways to be more successful in their business and try to alleviate a little stress by problem solving with them. I keep them informed of programs that could benefit their business and keep them up to date on the ever-changing technology in this industry.
Why did you want to come work at NMG?
I didn’t know a lot about this industry before coming to NMG, but the mission to help Independent retailers was something I wanted to be a part of. I’m also a people person, and knew I would get to work with and help people from all over the country on a daily basis, and that makes for a very exciting job.
Why do you think NMG is the best buying group for Independent retailers in today’s climate?
I believe NMG stands out from the other buying groups because of the people who work here. I think NMG has done an exceptional job hiring a lot of very talented people who all have the passion – to help Independent retailers not just succeed in their businesses but thrive. We have some brilliant people on our technology team, our digital marketing team, our merchandising teams, our business service team and our Member support teams.
What is the most important project you are working on right now, and why?
Working with my Members to get their websites up to to optimal functioning. With the dramatic shifts in customer shopping habits, especially in the last few months, having a top-notch e-commerce site is going to allow them to successfully compete in this industry.
What is your favorite memory from your time at NMG?
Probably my most favorite memory to date is the the first PrimeTime during which we partnered with No Child Hungry. The energy in the room, mixed with bonding with people from all over the country while we helped pack meals for children, was such an amazing experience. To this day, it’s still one of the things I look forward to the most at our PrimeTime shows.
What do you like most about your job?
Helping people. I have a huge passion for helping people in all aspects of my life, and I get to do it daily in my job.
What else do you want people to know about you and NMG?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two children, family and friends. I have a huge passion for helping others and try to volunteer as much as I can. I proudly serve as a member of the Seattle Children’s Guild and work throughout the year to help raise money for the uncompensated care program. My personal mission statement is “I will constantly strive to be the best version of of myself, approaching my life with energy, passion, honesty & integrity.”
