What motivates you to get up and go to work for the Independent retailer every day?

I love my job with Nationwide and I feel I am here to help both members and co-workers anyway I can. I enjoy being a part of the largest buying group in the USA.

Tell us about your role at NMG.

To provide and explain all the tools NMG offers to help our members thrive in their marketplace. I work with different size dealers, but they all have the same common thread. They must compete with the big box stores.

Why did you want to come work at NMG?

I have been in working with the independent channel for 20 years as an inside and territory representative working with dealers of all sizes. I understood early on that for a dealer to exist and survive in todays world, they needed the support of a buying group to compete in their marketplace. NMG provides all the services and benefits a member needs to keep their doors open.

Why do you think NMG is the best buying group for Independent retailers in today’s climate?

Nationwide has all the services, programs, and tools an independent need to thrive on their own terms. We have PrimeTime twice a year were members can discuss and look at other possible revenue streams. PrimeTime offer Nationwide Learning Academy courses, taught by subject matter experts, and by members themselves. When combined with services such as product protection, Website and Digital advertising, the member can compete and in many ways win over the big box stores.

What is the most important project you are working on right now, and why?

Getting members to understand how the digital space impacts them in the market place. Helping them understand that their brand is the most important brand they have. Also, to use manufacturer-based advertising to help keep them in front of the shopping public that is more and more beginning their shopping experience online.

What is your favorite memory from your time at NMG?

The best memories are meeting with members and walking the floor discussing what, and how a program or service can impact them. The other is the new opening to the floor, the clapping I feel lets them know that they ARE Nationwide.

What do you like most about your job?

Working along side some great MSM’s and folks that love helping members. This job has moments of great satisfaction when a member is helped by things you or NMG was able to do.
