What motivates you to get up and go to work for the Independent retailer every day?

Having worked so many years in retail, I understand what our Members go through on a daily basis. With that knowledge, I can help the Members I serve tackle their issues head on, help them grow their business and help them find new avenues to bring profit to their bottom line — that’s what drives me every day.

Tell us about your role at NMG.

I am a Member Support Manager. I work with the Members to help them solve issues, grow their business, look at market trends, and help them in all aspects of their business.

Why did you want to come work at NMG?

Coming from the Independent channel and being a Member of a buying group, I knew how the buying group helped our store daily. When the opportunity came open, I knew I wanted to go for it and to be that source for the Members that our rep was for our store.

Why do you think NMG is the best buying group for Independent retailers in today’s climate?

Nationwide Marketing Group has always been the leader in the market helping the Independent channel. When COVID-19 hit, NMG knew that we needed to be the frontrunner for resources to help retailers understand and adapt to the changing market. With our digital assets and programs, we can help the Independent retailers grow their business.

What is the most important project you are working on right now, and why?

My most important project I am working right now is websites and digital marketing. I am helping the Members see that having a website is vital to their business every day. Our market has changed with COVID-19, and more customers are starting the shopping experience online. I want to ensure that all my Members are prepared to adapt and attract these customers.

What is your favorite memory from your time at NMG?

All our PrimeTime shows; getting to see all the Members, vendors, Nationwide Learning Academy, new products, Member services, and all the new digital innovations to help our Members.

What do you like most about your job?

Helping my Members be successful in their communities.

What else do you want people to know about you and NMG?

I have been in the volunteer fire service for 31 years, serving 27 of those years as assistant chief. My family and I enjoy camping trips to the lake, going on family cruises, and helping our community and county grow.
