While furniture trends often follow fashion, they also seem to stick around a bit longer than the average seasonal fashion cycles. Summer Las Vegas Market offered proof that many of the trends from spring 2025 — and even fall 2024 — aren’t going anywhere just yet.

The buzz around new mattress features also tends to have a longer lifecycle, with extensive research and product development going into technologies and advancements that benefit sleep. Yet, one newer mattress trend showed up in a big way at summer market — impacting not only the bed, but top of bed as well.

Keep reading for the scoop on this mattress trend, plus a few furniture trends with staying power for the remainder of the year.

Green and Blue Hues

Color is in. Yes, incorporating non-neutral hues can be a matter of preference; however, consumers are collectively gravitating toward green and blue this year.

We saw green emerge as a hot trend this spring at High Point Furniture Market, and the demand remains high with shades across the spectrum represented in everything from accent pieces and rugs to sheets and showstopping statement sofas.

Blue has joined green as a color of choice — although arguably, blue tends to be one of those colors that never fully goes out of style. While blue preferences may vary by region — think coastal or rustic cabin decor — vendors at market offered options for every taste.

Soft and Luxe Fabrics

We first spotted this trend at High Point last fall, and its appeal continues to grow. Not only do these feel-good fabrics offer a comfortable, lived-in aesthetic, but they also convey a look of luxury. Velvet, chenille, bouclé, and other indulgently soft fabrics graced countless showrooms in Las Vegas, covering categories like sofas, chairs, accent pillows, and top of bed.

Functional, Solutions-Focused Furniture

Although visual appeal will always be a key driver in purchase behavior, today’s consumer wants more — more options that fit small spaces, serve multiple purposes, and, in one way or another, make life easier.

At market, functionality was top of mind, with creative storage solutions, non-slip sheets, multi-functional pieces, space-saving designs, technology-infused furnishings and everything in between.

The bedding category, too, has become increasingly solutions-focused through continued advancements that address common sleep issues like back pain, sleeping hot, snoring, and other health-related issues.

Health and Wellness Benefits

Speaking of health, the solutions-focused product trend overlaps with a broader, ongoing movement to target health and wellness needs across all home categories.

Given the impact of sleep on overall health, it’s no surprise to see bedding continue to lean into this trend with enhanced mattress features and technologies. These include adjustable base beds, split head designs, and breathable and cooling materials. There is truly a mattress for every type of sleeper and every budget.

Massage and lift chairs have also increased in popularity as part of the wellness trend. From lumbar support and muscle tension relief to zero gravity and personalized heat and massage preferences, specialty chairs now cater to a wider range of health needs — and budgets, too.

Split Head Mattresses

Now, let’s talk about that new mattress feature currently having its moment — the split head. Designed for partners with varied sleeping preferences, split head mattresses provide relief for issues like heartburn and snoring while also supporting bedtime habits like sitting up to read or watch TV.

And with this trend comes a rise in demand for sheets that fit a split head mattress. Enter: split head fitted sheets. Seen all over market, these uniquely designed sheets offer many of the same features consumers have come to expect with traditional sheets, including corner bands, moisture-wicking materials, and cooling benefits.

As we look to the latter part of the year and into 2026, new product statements are likely to be made at High Point this fall and at January’s Las Vegas Market. Even so, we expect demand for these existing trends to linger for a while.
