WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Nationwide Marketing Group announced today that Rob Stott has joined the team as manager of corporate communications.
Stott previously served as editorial director for CT Lab Global Media, the consumer technology B2B media organization responsible for producing Dealerscope and Connected Design magazines. During his time with CT Lab, Stott was responsible for crafting the content strategy for the company and overseeing daily production for the brands’ websites, magazines and special projects. Stott also spearheaded creation of the Dealerscope Podcast, which quickly became a staple at PrimeTime shows after its 2017 launch.
“Rob has always been a vocal advocate for the independent retailer,” says Tom Hickman, Nationwide’s president and chief member advocate. “And through his in-depth coverage of PrimeTime, and of the independent channel in general, he has shown that he truly understands what makes this industry tick. Rob’s talent and expertise will allow us to continue highlighting the exceptional work of our members and vendors in innovative and engaging new ways. We are very excited to welcome him to the team.”
In addition to managing public relations and social media for Nationwide, Stott will also lead production of Independent Thinking, Nationwide’s member magazine, and develop new programming initiatives to broaden the organization’s communications efforts.
“Storytelling has been the one constant throughout my career, and it’s where I find I’m most passionate,” Stott says. “During my time writing about the retail trade, I’ve had the opportunity to grow close to Nationwide and its members, and the work they do has always left me impressed. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join the Nationwide team and share even more stories from this incredible organization.”
Stott is a 2010 graduate of Duquesne University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Upon graduation, Stott worked as an editorial assistant for the American Society of Association Executives in Washington, D.C., before joining CT Lab.
